Experience the magic of Verona in 1 day

Let's start immediately by saying that Verona is definitely worth discovering and experiencing for more than 1 day,
but if you only have one day available to visit it, perhaps because you have chosen Lake Garda as the focus of your holiday,
there are some useful tips you can follow to focus your visit.
We remind you that Borgo Romantico is only 30 min. from the Arena and the main attractions ?

Here are some of the main attractions you should consider:
  1. The Arena: This well-preserved Roman amphitheater is one of the symbols of the city. You can admire it from the outside or attend a show or concert inside.
  2. Piazza delle Erbe: This medieval square is the heart of the city, surrounded by historic buildings and full of cafes and restaurants. Here you can admire the Palazzo Maffei, the Torre dei Lamberti, and the outdoor market.
  3. Juliet's House: One of Verona's most famous attractions, Juliet's House is a medieval house with a balcony that was made famous by Shakespeare's story of Romeo and Juliet. The house also contains a museum dedicated to the history of the Capulet family.
  4. Piazza Bra: This large square is located in front of the Arena and offers a spectacular view of the monument. Here you can find numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as the Porta dei Borsari, one of the original entrances to the Roman city.
  5. Ponte Pietra: This Roman bridge over the Adige river offers a breathtaking view of the city. You can walk across the bridge or enjoy the view from the riverbank.

These are just some of the main attractions of Verona, but thereare many other things to see and do in the city. If you have time, you mightalso consider visiting the Basilica of San Zeno, Castelvecchio, the Giusti Garden, or taking a walk on the medieval city walls.

WHAT TO EAT IN VERONA
The typical dish of Verona is "Risotto al tastasal," acreamy risotto prepared with "tastasal," a finely ground and agedsalami made from pork that is used to flavor the dish. The risotto is usuallycooked in meat broth and white wine and served with a generous sprinkling of Grana Padano cheese. However, there are many other typical dishes from Veronathat are worth trying, such as "Pastissada de caval" (a braised dishof marinated horse meat in red wine), "Bigoli all'aglio" (a pastasimilar to spaghetti with garlic and anchovies), and "Polenta e osei"(a dish of polenta, small birds, and sausages).

WINE, ONE OF THE "ATTRACTIONS" NOT TO BE MISSED
Verona is famous for its wine production, especially for red wines. Among the wines that cannot be missed during a visit to Verona are:

- Amarone della Valpolicella: a full-bodied and powerful red wine, produced using partially dried grapes to increase the concentration of sugars and flavours.
- Valpolicella Classico: another red wine produced in the Valpolicella area, with a fruity fragrance and a smooth taste.
- Soave: a dry, light and fresh white wine, produced in the Soave area. It has a delicate aroma of flowers and fruit, and is a great choice to accompany fish or vegetable dishes.
- Bardolino: another red wine from the Lake Garda area, with a fruity and light flavour.
- Recioto della Valpolicella: a sweet red wine, produced with partially dried grapes. It has an intense aroma of fruit and chocolate, and is perfect as a dessert wine or to accompany aged cheeses.

Have a nice visit to the City of Love! ❤️
